Privacy Policy

We designed Aporia so that you keep your data. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means.

1. The short version

• The Aporia and AporiaChat apps are self-hosted: they run on hardware that you or your organisation control. We do not receive your messages, files, calls or client records.
• The desktop and web clients connect to your server, not to ours.
• We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising.

2. Information the applications handle

Messages, files, contacts, call media and other content you create are stored on the server you install and operate. Aporia Nous Computing has no access to that server and does not collect or retain that content.

Account details (name, email, password) are managed by your own server administrator, not by us.

3. Information we may receive

• Support requests. If you email us for help, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include — used only to answer you.
• Purchases through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft processes the payment and shares only limited, aggregate information with us (for example, that a copy was acquired). We do not receive your card details.

4. Calls and camera

Video and audio calls are processed on the participating devices. Background blur and virtual backgrounds are applied on your device. Where a feature uses an on-device model, that model may be downloaded when first used; call content is not sent to us.

5. Children

Aporia is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13.

6. Your choices

Because your content lives on your own server, you control it directly — you can export or delete it from your server at any time. To ask us anything about this policy, contact us below.

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the new version on this page.
